Michael Amato's first brush with show business was as part of a singing group in the 60's, called the Elgins. With a natural gift for selling, Michael spent time promoting his group and ultimately, with all his contacts, ended up managing singers.

He spent time as an actor working on such shows during the "Golden Age of Television" working on "The Naked City", "Kraft Mystery Theatre" and even got to play with Ben Gazzara in "Golden Boy".

In 1979, Michael moved to the other side of the desk opening his own office and carving a niche for himself representing some of the most important ethnic performers in the business.

Michael has a great eye for talent and spotted Marlan Wayans well before he became a force in the business. Michael doesn't believe in signing talent, but jump started the careers of Omar Epps, Esai Moralis and Lisa Videl all at a young age.

Michael has a wonderful business in print and many of his serious actors pay their rent working in lucrative print ads.

So if you have a real people kind of face, Michael may be interested in adding you to his extensive list of working print models.

Although Michael prefers referrals, he will look at actos with credible resumes and who have 1/2" tapes of their work. He will not look at tapes of theatre work or film produced merely for audition purposes.
